Take advantage of our advice to easily complete you addon's product sheet, ensure rapid marketing validation and encourage customers to buy your module.
Designing your product pages well is essential to sell well and facilitate the validation of your addons.
Remember that by selling your products on the PrestaShop Marketplace, you are addressing agencies, freelancers, developers, but also many merchants who often have very little technical knowledge. You must therefore make your product sheet easy to understand.
Find a clear, representative and concise name
Choose a name that, as far as possible, will describe the main function of your module. The merchant will then be able to find your module more easily in the list of modules in the back office of their store.
- Choose a clear, concise and representative name.
- Ban the terms "module", "responsive" and "PrestaShop" from the name of your module.
- Avoid specifying the version of your module in the title: this information is already automatically included in your product sheet.
- Avoid using the same name as existing modules on the PrestaShop Marketplace. Stand out!
IMPORTANT: The use of a third-party brand is subject to a certain number of rules and is strictly regulated. You must therefore ensure that you have the right to use the brand(s) of a third party for the referencing, distribution and promotion of your products on PrestaShop Marketplace. Consider contacting the owner of the brand in question to obtain a license or to learn about any usage guidelines.
Add an attractive and high-resolution icon
The icon must be representative of your module! Indeed, it allows visitors to understand at a glance the functionality offered, which is essential, particularly on category pages and on your seller page in order to differentiate them.
Your module icon must measure 57x57 pixels to have an optimal resolution on the site (jpg, png or gif format).
Describe the features and benefits of your module
Describe your module and make them want to buy it: Be striking to convince e-merchants of the usefulness of your module from the first lines (250 characters maximum). The short description is visible on the home page and category pages.
What are the benefits for the e-merchant?
The e-merchant is the person who buys your module on PrestaShop Marketplace. This field allows you to clearly detail the benefits that your module brings to them. For a good presentation, think about: Present the features in the form of a list: merchants will quickly understand the essential functions of your product.
Also highlight the strengths and competitive advantages of your module. Use action verbsTo engage potential customers and demonstrate the use of each function. Your text must be understandable for e-merchants who do not necessarily have a lot of technical knowledge.
What are the benefits for the customer?
This field allows you to display what your module brings to the interest of the merchant customers. Don't forget to make this distinction.
These are all questions that you must answer in order to convince the merchant that your module is essential for his store.
Your screenshots
Screenshots are mandatory and must show in images what your module is capable of doing. The merchant will thus be able to quickly understand the functionalities of your module.
For an optimal presentation, make sure to:
- Add at least 3 screenshots (and one for each functionality)
- Include screenshots of the Back-Office and the Front-Office.
- Use a size of 1000 x 1000 px and in jpg, png or gif format.
- Check that they are of good quality (readable and not blurred content).
- Do not add any external redirects to your professional contact details.
- Create screenshots for each language (if you offer your product sheet in several languages).
Find at least 3 relevant keywords
Keywords are essential for highlighting your module on PrestaShop Marketplace since they allow you to optimize the referencing of your module in search results.
So remember to:
- Add at least 3 different keywords, separated from each other and for each selected language.
- Use similar variables (synonyms, spelling mistakes, singular/plural), which users are likely to search for. Example: “rgpd”; “rgdp”: “rdgp”…
No need to insert generic keywords such as “PrestaShop” and “module”. On the contrary, choose relevant words adapted to the functionality of your module.
To find out if the ones you have chosen are relevant, ask those around you what keywords they would use in the search bar to find your module. This will allow you to modify them and/or add more.
Specify what need your module meets
To better guide merchants, a facet is available to help them search for modules according to their needs (“Conversions”, “Navigation”, “Productivity ...). It is therefore essential to find THE key benefit corresponding to your module. Do you think that a second benefit is necessary for your module? Do not hesitate to contact us directly via the Help Center so that we can include it in your product sheet.
Fill in the distribution countries
Select only the countries where your module will work. The module will then only be visible for the country(ies) selected by the merchant.
In addition to English as the default language, the product sheet will then have to be translated into the language of the country in question.
Select the right price
Choose the price excluding tax at which your module will be sold, from the proposed price list ranging from €49.99 to €4,999.99
If other modules offer similar features to your product, avoid offering a lower price: your product could appear to be of lower quality.
Do you want to offer a free module? You can become a PrestaShop Partner: contact our Partnership Service by filling out this form to obtain all the necessary terms and conditions.
Complete with demonstrations
88% of our merchants said they trust a module that had demonstrations more.
We strongly recommend that you add demonstrations of your module so that all customers can understand how it works.
- If you add a video, it must be in HTTPS and preferably hosted on Youtube/Vimeo/Dailymotion so that it can be read by all our merchants. Your video demo must show the installation and configuration of the module step by step and must not be for commercial purposes.
- For your back-office demo, only use the username "demo@demo.com" and the password "demodemo".
- For your front-office demo, you can use our Classic Theme, via this link: http://demo.prestashop.com/fr/
In the “Information” field located in the footer of the theme, do not fill in any of your personal information.
No external redirection to personal contact details should be made. Remember that all support must be done via the PrestaShop Marketplace messaging interface. In the event of a dispute, we will be able to help you.
Create complete documentation
The documentation allows the merchant to understand how to install and configure your module alone.
- It must be written at least in English and in the other languages in which you offer your product sheet.
- If you add two documentations in English and Spanish, you must name them: “readme_en” & “readme_es”.
- Favor screenshots and simple sentences, which will be understood by all your customers, regardless of their level of skills.
Remember, the more complete your documentation is, the more you will considerably reduce your after-sales service.
A word of advice: do not hesitate to add an “FAQ” section at the end of the page in which you will integrate all the recurring questions asked
FAQ
What to do after completing all the information?
Submit your listing for marketing validation. Our dedicated team will then be able to check your listing and in the different languages added, within a maximum of 10 days.
If this is a new module, you will have to wait for the technical team to also validate your ZIP before the module is put online on PrestaShop Marketplace.
If this was an update, these will be effective the day after validation by the marketing team.
