Since June 30, 2025, the PrestaShop Marketplace has adopted a new category structure designed to make navigation easier and improve module visibility.
This reorganization aims to create a smoother user experience and better reflect how merchants search for modules today. With a clearer and more relevant hierarchy, modules will be easier to find, and merchants will enjoy a more efficient browsing experience.
What’s new
- Category and subcategory names have been updated to better match the vocabulary merchants use today.
- Similar subcategories have been merged into broader, more consistent categories.
- Some subcategories have been moved under new parent categories to better reflect merchants’ browsing habits.
- The number of subcategories per main category has been reduced to simplify the menu.
- SEO optimization of URLs and metadata has been carried out to improve module visibility in search engines.
Important: No modules have been removed. Only their classification has changed, in a way that’s more logical and aligned with current merchant expectations.
What you need to know
You don’t need to take any action, but here are a few key points to keep in mind:
- Automatic migration: All modules have been automatically reclassified based on the new structure.
- Use the search bar: If you can’t find a module, try searching by name or keyword.
- No impact on search results: Modules are still fully searchable as before.
- Improved visibility : Better classification may give your modules more visibility in relevant sections.
- Optimize your listings(Optional) : You can update your titles, descriptions, and tags to reflect the new category names.
We believe this update will make the Marketplace more effective for both modules' sellers and merchants.

FAQ
What has changed in the category structure of the PrestaShop Marketplace?
We’ve reorganized the categories to make browsing simpler and more intuitive. This includes renaming some categories, merging or removing certain subcategories, and moving others to more suitable parent categories. The goal is to streamline the menu and make modules easier to find.
Why can’t I find my usual subcategory anymore?
Some subcategories have been moved or merged. Don’t worry—your content is still there. We recommend exploring the new structure or using the search bar to find what you’re looking for.
Have any modules been removed from the Marketplace?
No modules have been removed. If a module seems to be missing, it has likely been moved to a different category. Searching by keyword remains the fastest way to find it.
Will the visibility of my module be affected?
Your module may now appear in a new, more relevant category. This new structure is designed to better match how merchants browse and can help improve visibility.
Do I need to do anything to update my modules?
No action is required. All modules have been automatically moved to the appropriate category under the new structure.
Will merchants still be able to find my modules easily?
Yes. Keyword search works the same as before. Only the menu navigation has changed. For even better visibility, you may consider updating your descriptions and keywords to align with the new category names.
