This article describes, step by step, the journey of a developer to obtain a PrestaShop Expert Certification (Core Skills, Administrator Skills, or Storefront Skills). You will find the format of the examination, the passing rules, the communication of results, and the post-examination follow-up for the agency and for the developer.
1. Receipt of access.
- Once the developer is assigned (see: How to assign a certification to a developer?), he will receive an initial automatic email containing:
- The link to the examination platform.
- He will then receive a second email with a 6-digit authentication code to access the examination.
No email received?
- He must check his spam folder.
- If necessary, contact Care support from the Help Center.
Login to the platform.
- The exam is 100% online: access via a web browser, no installation required.
- Secure authentication via a unique 6-digit authentication code received by email.
- Ensure a stable connection and a calm environment.
3. Exam format
The three certifications share the same general format: MCQ (multiple choice questions or single choice), limited duration of 90 minutes, passing threshold of 80%.

Good to know: once started, the exam cannot be paused.
4. Passage Rules
- 1 purchase = 1 right of passage → one attempt only included.
- In the event of failure, the passage right is consumed; a paid retake must be purchased for a new attempt (see: How to purchase a certification?).
- The passage is nominal and non-transferable. Once initiated, it cannot be assigned to another developer.
5. Results
The results are communicated immediately at the end of the examination.
In the event of success.
- The developer receives a confirmation email and their individual badge in their vault (PDF and digital badge).
- The agency receives an email confirming the success (and the possible activation of the agency badge, if the conditions are met).
Case of failure
- The developer and the agency receive an email indicating the failure.
- The email contains instructions for purchasing a retake and scheduling a new attempt.
6. Post-examination follow-up
- The developer retrieves their certification from their personal safe (PDF and digital badge).
- The agency monitors the certification status of developers in the portal from its certification tracking dashboard (statuses: passed, failed, expired).
- Automatic notifications are sent before expiration (validity: 24 months).

May I transfer my right of passage to a colleague?
No. Once the passage has commenced, it is nominal and non-transferable.
How many attempts are included?
Only one attempt is included per passage. In case of failure, one must purchase a retake.
What is the exact duration of the exam?
90 minutes, regardless of the certification taken.
