The new PrestaShop certification program allows agencies to enhance the skills of their developers. To access the certifications, your agency must have an active annual subscription to the Expert program. This article explains the access conditions, the various purchasing methods, and the step-by-step process via the Expert Portal.
Access conditions for certifications
- Certifications are reserved for agencies with an active annual subscription.
- The subscription unlocks full access to the certification catalog.
- Each annual subscription automatically includes 1 exam attempt for the Core Skills certification offered per year (see: Use your included exam attempt).
⚠️ The Core Skills certification is mandatory:
- It is the basic technical foundation.
- At least one developer from the agency must be Core Skills certified for the agency to retain its badge and visibility in the Expert directory.
- In case of failure, a new purchase for retaking the exam is necessary
Available purchasing modes
Annual subscription:
- Includes 1 Core Skills exam attempt offered per year.
- This attempt must be assigned to an agency developer within the subscription year.
Additional individual certifications:
- To certify multiple developers, or for optional certifications (Administrator Skills, Storefront Skills).
- 1 purchase = 1 exam entry (non-transferable once started).
- Rates: €250/developer/entry.
Purchase process (via the Expert Portal)
- Log in to the Expert Portal.
- Access the Certifications Catalog section.
- You will have access to all available certifications: Core Skills, Administrator Skills, and Storefront Skills.
- Included passage: the Assign to a developer button appears for the Core Skills. Click on it to directly assign a passage to a developer (see: How to assign a certification to a developer?).
- If your included passage is already in use and you wish to purchase a new one, click on the Buy this exam button (€250 / passage).
- Complete the purchase via the payment platform. You will receive a confirmation email at the end of the transaction.
- The new certification appears in the summary tracking table.
A button Assign to a developer allows you to assign each passage to a developer.
FAQ
What happens if a developer fails an exam?
The passage is consumed. A new purchase is required to retake the exam (see: What happens in case of success or failure?).
Is the passage offered in the annual subscription renewed each year?
Each year, a new passage is included. On the other hand, if a passage has not been used, it is not carried over to the following year.
May I purchase a certification directly without an annual subscription?
No. The certifications are accessible only with an active subscription to the Expert program.
